Beginner Astronomy Classes

New to astronomy?

You have to admit, astronomy can look exciting from the outside, but once you scratch the surface, it can get seemingly complex in a hurry. But it doesn’t have to be that way if there’s someone to guide you and answer all your seemingly basic questions.

We’re happy to offer beginner astronomy classes by our friendly astronomers. These classes focus on beginning observational astronomy for our newer members of the club and last about 45 minutes. (If you’re not a member, click here to become one!)

Topics include: solar system events, constellations Bootes, Ursa Major, Leo, and Lynx, planets Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn, phases of the moon, and one particular solar system object in more depth. Mixture of mythology and science, then outdoors to see constellations and view objects through telescopes. It’s free and educational.

No reservation needed, just be sure to arrive at sunset to get the most out of these classes. Contact to be put on the list to attend the next one!
